This Senior Dog Needs Your Support

With no place else to go and blind from Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue knew that Truman needed to be in special care asap. Truman had sky-high blood pressure and inherited the genetics for tooth and gum issues, which are common in some greyhound bloodlines. No amount of brushing, scaling, liquid additives, or wipes would prevent tooth loss.

He's had to have several teeth extracted due to excessive gum recession.

Now, as a senior dog, he's developed cataracts, and they need to test his eye pressure for glaucoma regularly. Removing the cataracts won't restore his vision, but if left untreated, it could lead to glaucoma. This is why the vet needs to test his eye pressure regularly.

Truman is truly a special guy, as sweet as can be, a true Velcro dog and wonderful companion. He's found his place on his caretaker's bed. He’s found his courage to explore, to love and to be loved. Every day brings smiles as Truman adjusts to his handicap and thrives.
