About this campaign
Tundra is a 9 year old Husky that I rescued on Jan 1, 2017. At the time, I was living in an apartment in Charlotte NC and was looking for a roommate. I came across Tundra on a rescue website and contacted the rescue. She brought him out to meet me and I adopted him on the spot. We now live in Lexington SC with my husband, mother in law and 3 other furbabies.
Tundra is quite the character. He joined the family in 2017 and when my husband and I moved in together we added my husband's 2 cats to our mix. In 2021 we had to put our eldest cat down due to age (he was 21 years old) and in 2022 we brought in another rescue, a 3 month old Shorkie named Maverick. Maverick and Tundra are the best of friends and spend all of their days together.
Tundra is a Husky which means he LOVES to talk. Usually when I don't want him to haha. He gets super excited when Dad gets home from work and will stand at the window and howl and talk until Dad comes in and loves on him. He will tell me all about it to procure a treat from me. He does NOT like fireworks and hates it when people in our neighborhood shoot them off. He loves to run and play fetch.
In October 2023 I noticed a lump on Tundra's leg. It wasn't very big and I wasn't overly concerned. I took him to the vet to look at it and they drew a sample. It came back cancerous. We met with Oncology at CVETS and they stated that he will need his leg amputated in order to save him. They provided me an estimate for the amputation and said that the surgery would most likely be curative.
2023 was not our year - April my husband had a stroke; July AC went out; Oct Tundra diagnosed with cancer and Dec I lost my job. If Tundra's diagnosis was fatal I would do everything I could to make him comfortable till the end, but this surgery can save his life.
