About this campaign
Tupie has been my baby since she was about 5 weeks old (according to the vet), when she mysteriously appeared in my yard, perhaps dropped by the stork, or more likely a victim of being in the undercarriage of a car. I was 12 years old at the time, and she has been with me since, all the way into my adulthood.
Tooth resorption in cats is when the dentin inside a tooth breaks down, eventually destroying the tooth from crown to root. It’s common, affecting 20–60% of cats and up to 75% of those over age five. The cause is unknown. It is very painful and makes eating difficult to impossible, and causes infections. Extraction is the only treatment.
Tupie is the sweetest cat. She talks constantly, and loves to sleep on top of me at night like a warm cat blanket. She is a bit of a nervous nelly, worried about strange sounds. But she always goes to check them out anyway, talking about it the whole time! I'm worried, because she is starting to lose weight since she cannot eat well.
I'm on a fixed income, like many Americans. I have loans from my own medical treatments including surgery for a tumor, pre-cancer treatment, medications, and another surgery I have upcoming. Care Credit and such will not approve me for any more money I can use for Tupie.
