Tux is a 5 year old Border Collie in Farmington, UT, who needs $9,560 for Blood Transfusions, Steroids, Immunosuppressants.

Tux came from a family of 12 where the gaggle of kids was his own flock of sheep to protect. Because his Border Collie instincts, he developed reactivity and had to be rehomed. He almost got put down, but that's when my boyfriend - now husband - and I took a chance on him. And he proved his true character. Tux is wicked smart, super athletic, and is the sweetest boy. He deserves a long loved life.

But on 7/19 Tux became frighteningly woozy, lethargic, and had bloody urine. The incredible emergency vets at Mountain West Veterinary Specialists were sought out. They determined that Tux was in life or death crisis with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. They walked us through his chances of survival and we decided we had to at least try and save him.

Thanks to them, he has a fighting chance.

Border Collies are the smartest dogs around, and Tux is definitely among the smartest. He always finds a way to get what he wants - usually fetch or peanut butter. Tux will come sit by us and give us his paw until we hold his hand. He LOVES his butt to be scratched. And he loves to swim and play in lakes. Most of all, we love him and we know he knows it. That's why we're trying sohard to save him.

My husband is dealing with his own auto immune disease (like father like son, right?) and recently lost his job. Further, I was laid off in February and am currently underemployed. We are just trying to keep our heads above water and keep Tux safe. Thank you for your help <3
