Twinkles is a 1-year-old Domestic Shorthair in Fayetteville, NC, who needs $1,216 for hospital support with fluids, antibiotics, and extensive testing.

Twinkles came to the rescue after he got hungry and walked into the trap that one of our volunteers had set. He was about three months old at the time, and needed quite a bit of socializing, but we were up to the task.

Within a week he was snuggled up in his fosters arms, and it was no more than a month later that he was ready for his forever home. From feral to adoptable!!!

Twinkles is such a sweet boy. He spends most of his time with his foster sister, Stardust. He lives in a home with an elderly woman and her mother, so he gets a LOT of lap time and pets, and he has come to enjoy his life there. Of course we want him to find a forever home, but in the meantime he’s so very loved, and even therapeutic!!

We are a small 501c3 rescue that is just getting our feet under us, and it has been a rough couple of months. We’ve had a few cats that have needed extra attention and we just can’t turn our backs on them.

We don’t know what is wrong with Twinkles. Our veterinarian has run tests and he has been hospitalized for two days, and he is just not getting better. He is scheduled to be hospitalized for at least four more days with more tests being run so we can find out what exactly is wrong. This is the hard part when they can’t tell you exactly what it is that is hurting them.

Twinkles had to be taught to play with toys, but now he absolutely looooves his orange ball tower and will spend hours with Stardust playing with it and crinkle balls. He will even slip into his foster grandma’s lap when she’s having an off Alzheimer’s day and spend as much time as he can bring idly stroked. It has been therapeutic for them both!!
