Vader and Leia are 1-year-old Great Dane mixes in Wildwood, FL, who needs $320 for annual check ups.

I have had Vader since he was 6 weeks old. I recently was given Leia, she is 6 months old. They are imprinting on each other already. Vader was rescued from a dog fight from a bad area in Orlando Fl. He such an amazing dog. We are so lucky to have gotten him. Leia was give to us due to her original family’s other pets bullying her.

Leia sleeps in a cage because she’s not 100% potty trained, or crate trained so we are working on that. Vader sleeps with my son! They play all day long and run circles in the yard for hours. They are always outside digging, running, or playing with their baby humans. Vader is SO protective of them. He is a natural guard dog.

I am a mother of 4 kids, and I am currently on unemployment due to Covid. My husband currently works, but only enough to pay bills, so we are paycheck to paycheck. Any extra money goes to food, dog food, and bills.

I am looking to get basic care for them right now. We are in a hard spot. Leia has never been to a vet, so we need all her shots, rabies, de-wormer, flea medicine, micro-chip, heart worm test and heart worm prevention medication. Vader needs dewormed also, flea medicine, heart worm test and heart worm prevention medication. The both together is going to cost around $350.

Vader is such a character. He recently learned how to smile. The thing that I love about him, is how bonded to the kids he is. When I had my new baby, he didn’t see me bring the baby in, and he was FREAKING out because he couldn’t find the baby LOL. He is a goofball. We are still leaning about Leia, but she is the opposite of Vader. She is so calm, and polite compared to him!
