About this campaign

Valentina lives with myself and my partner. I grew up with Valentina, my mom brought her home on Valentines Day in 2005, hence her name! She really is my mom's dog, but when my mom passed from cancer I became her caretaker. She reminds me of my mom since they were rarely apart and I can't bare the thought of losing her too.

Though Valentina lives with me, she also enjoys visits from my brother and sisters and very clearly loves them dearly. Whenever they come over, her tail wags so fast it disappears! We all think of Mom whenever Valentina is in our arms. She always knows when one of us is sad and is ready with kisses and tail wags, or she brings a toy for some much needed tug of war.

Because of COVID-19, our savings have been depleted and we aren't able to fund a major surgery alone. Without it, the likelihood of her getting eye infections or developing extreme pain is high. She is so important to me and I want her to be healthy and happy.

Valentina has torn the lens of her left eye. The vet believes that if left untreated, she will develop glaucoma which is very painful and could lead to even more serious health issues. The vet recommends we remove the eye since the lens has already scarred over and her vision in that eye isn't savable. This will also prevent her from developing glaucoma in the future.

Despite her age, Valentina is still very active and loves playing fetch and going for walks. She is the very best snuggle buddy. Her favorite place to nap is in the sun, or in the hammock with me. She makes the cutest tiny barks when she is sleeping. Her best doggy friend is my stepmom's guide dog, Beryl. Valentina's favorite thing in the world is snacks!
