About this campaign

Meet Vesper, a stray dog whose life has already been filled with uncertainty — and now, he’s facing a painful medical mystery. Vesper was brought into care after rescuers noticed a firm, painful lesion on the top of his nose. The area was so sensitive that it began to bleed when touched. Despite his discomfort, Vesper remained gentle and trusting, allowing the veterinary team to help him.

To provide immediate relief, the veterinary team sedated Vesper so they could safely clean the wound and apply an antibacterial spray. But this was only the first step. The true cause of the lesion remains unknown, and determining what Vesper is facing is critical to saving his life.

Veterinarians have developed a diagnostic plan that includes performing a biopsy and a Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) to identify the nature of the growth. These tests will help determine whether the lesion is an infection, injury-related, or something more serious that may require surgery.

While waiting for results, Vesper is receiving supportive care, including fluids and medications to stabilize him and reduce the risk of infection. He is currently being treated with dextrose and normal saline fluids, along with medications such as Asyrtamm, Hydantin, and antibiotics to keep him comfortable and supported.

Because Vesper was found as a stray, his history is completely unknown. No one knows how long he has been suffering or what caused this painful condition. What we do know is that he deserves a chance — a chance to heal, to be safe, and to finally experience love.

Baw Baw Animal Welfare is committed to getting Vesper the diagnostics and treatment he needs, but the costs of testing, medications, and potential surgery add up quickly. They can’t do it alone.

Your donation will help cover:

• Diagnostic biopsy and Fine Needle Aspiration

• Sedation and wound care

• Medications and antibiotics

• IV fluids and supportive treatment

• Possible surgery once results are available

• Follow-up veterinary care

Right now, Vesper is waiting — waiting for answers, waiting for relief, and waiting for someone to care about his future. Every donation brings him one step closer to healing and a life beyond the streets.

Please consider donating and sharing Vesper’s story. Together, we can give this brave stray the second chance he deserves.
