About this campaign

Violet June is an 8 month old black lab who adopted our family in June of 2023. We weren't looking for a puppy, but she found us. Animals always seem to find a way into our house. She helped us to patch up the big hole left in our hearts after we lost our senior lab Sammy last Christmas. She completes our family of four humans, two dogs, two cats, and a hamster.

Violet June is a lab pup through and through. Energy. All. The. Energy. She loves to swim, go for walks, play fetch, aggressively love anyone who will let her love on them, and snuggle with her "kids" any chance she gets. She lives her best life at our home in rural Wisconsin where she has plenty of room to roam and water to swim.

Violet is genuinely happy to see anyone who graces her presence, as evidence by her tail wags, hugs, and kisses. She is known to chew the legs off of the occasional Barbie doll, but she is always forgiven as her puppy-dog-eyes are impossible not to forgive. She is also notorious for arriving to the kitchen the second the dishwasher door opens just in case there is something she can scrounge.

Violet was hit by a car in front of our house on Dec. 19th, when she was out to potty before our family left for a hockey game. She was in the wrong place (road) at the wrong time (dark, when a truck was southbound on our road) and was struck. She was taken to the nearest emergency vet clinic in Oakdale, MN, and was diagnosed with a broken pelvis needing surgical repair.

The last few months have proven difficult for us financially. This is the most unfortunate time I can think of to pay for an unexpected expense that is so many thousands of dollars. Its hard for us to ask for help, but we are trying anything we can to raise funds for Violet.
