About this campaign
Vita came to me from a breeder in my town. She is the only pup of a litter of 9 to survive due to mom not producing enough milk. I got her at 5 days old and within 5 hours she was in the emergency vet severely dehydrated. The vet told us she likely wouldn't make it through the night but we were going to give her a shot. 5 long days later of feeding tube she is eating from a bottle now.
Vita now eats from a bottle every 1 1/2- 2 hours and is doing fantastic. She is begining to climb and explore her environment and her eyes have opened. She is adjusting well to the bottle and eating around an ounce each feeding. She has blown all expectations that were set for her, completely out of the park.
While the past year has been rough on everyone our family lost both our jobs for several months. While my husband is now working I am not and we just put out several hundred dollars last week to get her in to the vet for her feeding tube.
The current situation is she had her tail docked at 2 days old and now the tip of the tail is exposed. If left untreated it will abscess and the infection will quickly take over her little body. Without vet care she just will not make it despite all the love and care we are giving her. We go to East Side animal hospital in evansville indiana and see Dr. Haines.
This sweet girl didn't stand a chance in the beginning. With days of sleepless nights, and round the clock care she has made a huge rebound and becoming quite the healthy active little girl she deserves to be. She loves to curl into a ball and squirm up under our arms to sleep. She also really enjoys sucking on fingers 😆
