Vlad is a 5-year-old rescue from Egypt. Initially shy and guarded, he took six months to fully trust me. Now, he’s a confident, loving cat who enjoys belly rubs, headbutts, and playing with strings. He lives in a stable, indoor home where he is well cared for, with a consistent diet and regular vet check-ups. He’s the dominant cat in the household and loves sleeping on my head.

On March 14th, Vlad became lethargic, refusing food and water. On March 18th, I took him to McGilvray Veterinary Hospital to see Dr. Brian Ogilby, where he stayed two nights for tests, including ultrasound, X-ray, fluid drainage, IV fluids, and bloodwork. On March 20th, he was diagnosed with FIP. I rushed him to South Tower Animal Hospital with Dr. Julie to start treatment.

Vlad is a loving, confident cat with a big personality. He took time to trust me, but now he demands belly rubs, headbutts, and cuddles. He’s the first to greet me in the morning and loves sleeping on my head. He’s dominant but affectionate, making everyone earn his respect before giving his love. Playful and sassy, he fills my home with joy, always finding ways to make me smile.

I’m a 21 yr old student paying for Vlad’s treatment alone. I’ve drained my savings, gone into debt and missed work. The stress is overwhelming but I’d do anything for him. Without help he may suffer and I might have to put him down. I just want him to have a happy full life.
