Thanks to the love and support from all of you, Walter James was able to get the best medical care he needed, and CAMO Rescue is happy to share that he has made a full recovery and is now up for adoption.
About this campaign
When CAMO Rescue learned that Walter James was on the euthanasia list at a local municipal shelter, they knew they couldn’t turn away. With no one else stepping forward to save him, CAMO stepped in and gave him the second chance he desperately deserved.
Walter James arrived in terrible condition. He was severely matted, Heartworm positive, and suffering from a large ruptured mass on the side of his neck. Years of neglect have clearly taken a toll, and he is now facing a long road to recovery. The painful mass will require surgery, and his Heartworm treatment will involve extensive veterinary care and rest in the months ahead.
Luckily, Walter James is finally safe. For the first time in a long time, he has people fighting for him and a chance at the life every dog deserves.
CAMO Rescue is committed to giving Walter James the medical care he urgently needs, but they can’t do it alone. Donations will help cover the cost of his surgery, diagnostics, Heartworm treatment, medications, and ongoing veterinary care.
Walter James was almost out of time. Now that he’s safe, let’s make sure he gets the chance to heal. ❤️🐾

🐾 Walter James Update ❤️
Walter James came to us needing a lot of help. This poor guy was dealing with multiple medical issues all at once and clearly hadn’t received the care he needed for quite some time.
Walter needed a mass removed and was also found to be heartworm positive. His teeth were in very poor condition with Grade 4 dental disease, requiring a much-needed dental cleaning and extractions. He also had infected ears, hearing impairment, a cataract in his left eye, and areas of scabbing on his skin. Simply put, Walter James was a bit of a mess when he arrived—but he finally had people in his corner ready to help him.
After receiving veterinary care and plenty of TLC, we’re happy to say that Walter James is doing pretty well! He is currently staying with his foster family, where he can relax, recover, and enjoy being properly cared for.
And now this special guy is ready to find his forever home! 🏡🐾 Walter may come with a little history and a few imperfections, but none of that takes away from how deserving he is of a family of his own.
Please help us share Walter James and find the family who will give this sweet boy the comfortable, loving future he deserves. His rough days are behind him—now he just needs his happily ever after. ❤️🐾
