About this campaign
My girl Weeya is my Service Animal who helps with my psychiatric problems and mobility. She will be 8 in January. She's always been the most friendly and outgoing dog and works hard to take care of me. She had a sudden onset of illness and the vet said it may be an autoimmune disorder..we don't know for sure yet but her bloodwork is indicating a problem. It's going to require more visits and tests
I live alone, no nearby family. She's my whole world. She's at my side 24/7 and is a favorite in my community, everyone at my doctors offices and grocery stores etc knows her and more than once I've been complimented that she's "a real Service Animal" unlike the people that bring their pets along and call them Service Animals.
She's the only dog I've ever known who doesn't like wet (canned) food! She prefers dry food with minced chicken and she LIVES for the treats she gets at the bank drive-thru; she literally droops if they don't have any (but feels better if you say "Awww")
AND! I live in an apartment complex where quietness is expected and she learned very quickly to not bark at a knock on the door, is that awesome
Dr Todd has been seeing her since puppyhood. He wants to do further tests to determine her sudden illness and I'm very scared about having to put her down if I can't afford it.
I'm on the low end of Social Security, below $800/mo and have no emergency cushion. She's always been so healthy and honestly a sudden illness never occurred to me, this has never happened to me before.
