Whiskey is a 4 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Akron, OH, who needs $2,000 for Surgery on ACL.

Whiskey was a gift for me from my late husband who passed unexpectedly in 2021. When he passed, he left me with a dog, cat, an 11 year old daughter, and I was pregnant with my son. We chose his name because my late husband and I were listening to Tennessee Whiskey when we got him. When I got out of the hospital from having my son, I noticed he was walking funny while out for a walk with him.

Unfortunately, because he is in a lot of pain, it's hard for anyone who isn't in my family to get near him so he hasn't been properly diagnosed yet. Upon taking him to Orville veterinary clinic, it was determined that he needed to be sedated to get evaluated. The vet suspects 2 torn ACLs which is an extremely expensive surgery. He has been living like this since 2022.

Whiskey is so special to us so instead of putting him down I am just medicating him when necessary, but it isn't a permanent fix. He loves all of our family so much that I want him to get the care he needs. I just can't afford it as a single widowed mother of 2.

The unexpected death of my husband in 2021 has really financially taken a toll on me. I had to file bankruptcy and I am just unable to financially afford the care he desperately needs to live a comfortable and happy life. We want him to be able to be a family dog.
