Whizzy is a 14-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Villa Park, IL, who needs $788 for X-rays, Ultrasound, and Blood Work.

Whizzy came into my life 13 years ago as a stray. He picked fights with my other cats and began marking territory in the backyard. My nephew named him Whizzy because he kept “whizzing everywhere”! I was fortunate enough to work at a vet hospital at the time, and after using a cat trap I was able to get him neutered and vaccinated. It took months of patience after that to earn his trust.

Whizzy is now a special part of the family. He still has quirks and can be quite timid from his life as a stray, but he enjoys (and demands!) cuddles with his humans and cat companion Leo.

He enjoys time on the patio, bird watching and sunbathing. He has been a stoic and calm presence in my life, enjoying the simple things - like his catnip and accompanying me every morning as I drink my herbal tea.

His blood work in July showed abnormal liver values and possible signs of hyperthyroidism. He also has recurring urinary issues. He is now quite alarmingly thin after losing 5lbs. His behavior is changing and his symptoms are progressing. He needs more blood work and imaging to determine a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan.

I am currently dealing with heavy financial strain. I am seeking my own medical care for a chronic illness, with bills for an ultrasound, MRI, and surgery piling up quickly. Receiving financial support for Whizzy’s care would mean the world to me during this difficult time.
