About this campaign
I am a 16 year old foster child. I have been in the system for the past 5 years after both of my parents rights were terminated. Growing up I could never keep my pets. My parents would gift an animal to me then get rid of it. I even had pets at other foster homes they I was forced to leave behind. I rescued widows from a bad situation and am promised I will never have to leave her.
One day widow started acting as if she couldn’t balance. She got worse very quickly and was falling when she would try to jump even from short distances. We brought her to urgent care and they ran some tests with no answers. She has been referred to a neurologist. She has an appointment on Oct 1 at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center. She will need an MRI that costs $4,000.
Widow is very sweet and social and vocal. She is always seeking attention and she enjoys being petted and is incredibly affectionate. She is there for me on my hardest days. I can’t imagine my life without her.
My foster parents are not rich. We have 8 other children in the home. Although they can afford basic animal care, they cannot afford the huge bill of even diagnostic testing and then afford to treat Widow. Foster care is not for profit. I am 16 and work as a youth advocate.
