About this campaign
My partner and I had been looking to adopt a kitten for months. While I was working at a vaccine/testing clinic, one of my regulars told me her neighbors were having kittens. I was so excited since I had been wanting to gift my partner with one. We waited for weeks for her to be old enough to take her home. We took her home at 6 weeks and one day.
Willow lives with my partner, Adrian, me, and our other cat, Ophelia. Willow was a birthday gift to Adrian. He had been wanting a kitten since I met him two years ago. Adrian has spent the last few days by Willow’s side. Trying to feed her, giver her water, or just to comfort her. This experience has been really hard on Adrian, as it is his first kitten.
Willow has always been so vocal. Meowing at us all the time. We can’t take two steps without her following us. She loves to cuddle, play, and climb. She loves to sit on our laps or shoulders (as photographed). My other cat, Ophelia (5Y) has been taking a cautious interest to her. She’ll sit and watch her for hours.
We took Willow to a pet hospital yesterday. The vet told us she was fine; just backed up. I didn’t believe so. She hadn’t ate or drank for days, lost a drastic amount of weight, felt cold to the touch, smelled bad. We tried giving her any type of food we could buy. Even bottle feeding. I woke up this morning to silence. When I checked on her, she was spasming. I took her to VE+CC immediately.
Holiday seasons are hard for most people. We’ve recently moved into a new place, had to get a car fixed, all with Christmas coming up. My partners hours were recently cut due to a shortage of work being available, and my paychecks barely cover our necessities.
