About this campaign
Willow came into our lives one sunny spring day in 2010 after my son Miles' softball game. We visited the Animal Humane Society after ice cream. Miles was captivated by a litter of calico kittens, but one caught eyes with him. After some sweet cuddles it was a done deal! The name "Willow" whispered in my ear. We already had a cat at home (our October Coy) but thought he could use some company.
The vet was concerned about weight/muscle wasting. No changes to her diet and appetite, but she lost weight from the last check up. After blood testing in December 2024, she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. The options for treatment aren't great for quality of life, except for the l-131 treatment, requiring exam, injection, hospital stay and boarding care at Animal Emergency & Referral Center.
Willow's friends are October who passed in August 2024, and my grand-cat, Suki, She loves soft toys, blankets and the treat Purr Pops. Her fave toy is a crinkly unicorn cat, a plush mouse, and blue unicorn. She sleeps with them and carries the unicorn cat around while making sweet noises. One of the many things I cherish about Willow is her pure, gentle soul. She's truly my angel girl!
I'm a Waiver Case Manager and Mental Health Practitioner. A career in social services doesn't pay much. I got insurance for Willow when she was a kitten and had to cancel it around February 2024 due to rising monthly costs. The I-131 would restore Willow's health, a miracle!
