Someone Stabbed Windy. Please Help Us Save Her

Windy is only two years old, but she has already experienced unimaginable cruelty.

She came into our care with deep cut wounds across the left dorsal area of her abdomen caused by a knife attack. No animal should ever endure this kind of violence. Despite the pain she has suffered, Windy remains gentle and trusting — a heartbreaking reminder of how innocent animals continue to love even after humans fail them.

When Windy was first found, a local veterinarian treated and sutured her wounds in an attempt to stabilize her condition. But during recovery, the sutures detached, leaving her vulnerable to infection and further complications. She is now back under urgent veterinary care so her wounds can be properly treated again.

Windy will need to undergo sedation for a second surgical procedure to re-suture the wounds. She is also receiving antibiotic injections and ongoing medical treatment to prevent dangerous infection and help her body heal from this traumatic injury.

Her recovery will not happen overnight. Windy will need continued veterinary monitoring, medications, wound management, and supportive care to give her the best chance at healing physically and emotionally.

Cases like Windy’s are devastating, but we refuse to let cruelty have the final word in her story. She deserves safety. She deserves compassion. And she deserves the chance to recover surrounded by people who will protect her.

We are so grateful to share a positive final update on sweet Windy. When Windy first came into our care, she had suffered unimaginable cruelty. At only two years old, she was fighting to survive after a horrific knife attack left her with deep wounds across her abdomen. Even after emergency treatment, her recovery took another heartbreaking turn when her sutures failed, forcing her to undergo a second surgery.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Windy was able to receive the lifesaving care she desperately needed. Her veterinary team successfully performed her second surgical procedure, carefully re-suturing her wounds and providing the medications, antibiotics, and ongoing treatment necessary to prevent infection and support healing. Throughout her recovery, Windy continued to amaze everyone with her gentle nature and resilient spirit.

Today, we're thrilled to share that Windy's wounds have healed beautifully, and she is doing well. The physical scars of the cruelty she endured will remain a reminder of her past, but they no longer define her future.
