About this campaign

We saved Winnie from the county pound about a month ago after they posted on their Facebook page that they were looking for a loving family to take her in a help get her the medical care that she needs for her legs. The vets at the pound said they she had minimal quality of life and that she was going to be euthanized soon if a home couldn’t be found for Winnie. She pulled at our heart strings, and we knew we had to save her. As soon as we met her, we knew we had to save her from spending another day there. She was so sweet, but cautious and you could tell she was in pain from her leg deformities. Although we were expecting for her medical expenses to be great, we did not realize how expensive it was going to be to get her legs fixed. We have already spent over $1500 going to specialists, getting x-rays, and having other medical imaging done to determine the best options to save her legs. It was estimated that the surgery she will be having in the next couple weeks will be between $6900-$7900 on top of what we have already spent. We absolutely love this dog and refuse to give up on her knowing that she has a very long and happy life ahead of her if she can just have the surgery to get her legs fixed.
