About this campaign

Winnie was rescued from a shelter June of 2024. She currently lives with her family, Scout who is her furry dog friend, and Alex and Emery, her adoptive mom and sister. She was a stray before she was brought to the shelter, and Alex was not planning on adopting when she came to visit, but Winnie stole her heart and gave Alex the chance to give her a home.

Winnie managed to find her way outside of her house, it’s unclear where she went, but she wandered her way to the wrong persons property, and they decided to take a shot at her with a pellet gun. The pellet went through her humerus (front left leg) and lodged just outside her chest wall. BluePearl was able to stabilize her at a great expense, and Mission Animal Hospital will be handling surgery.

Winnie is full of curiosity. When she was first taken home, she wasn’t interested in leaving the bedroom, other than peeking out of the door, she was content. She was eager to get to know her friend Scout though, and with encouragement she opened herself up to exploring the house. She loves her little friend Emery, and is often found sleeping in her room or even snuggling up with Emery.

I just finalized my divorce, last week. I am a single mother to a 3 year old, and we are living with my mother. I have to work at the same daycare my daughter attends just to pay for that, let alone never imagining I’d need to prepare to save for surgery for a furry friend.
