Winston is my best friend, the love of my life, & my Emotional Support Animal. Winston is an 11 year old American Staffie. I adopted him when he was 4 months old. He loves squeaky toys and tennis balls, snuggling on his mountain of blankets & pillows & playing with his 2 sister kitties. He has been super healthy much of his life & this diagnosis has come as a shock to me all in the last few days.

Winston is the glue that holds us all together. My 2 cats are super bonded to him, he is the protector & emotional supporter for all of us from his lovable hugs when I’m crying, to the baths he gives the kitties, he is always there for us to make sure we all feel safe and happy. He loves attention, playing fetch, tummy rubs. He has been my rock and motivator for 11 years.

Winston has been my constant companion and emotional support animal for the last 11 years. He comes and sits on me when he can tell I’m upset and has been there for me especially in these last several months as I’ve tackled many of my own health problems. He loves soft blankets & pillows. He likes to carry around 2 tennis balls in his mouth, roll around in the grass & get infinite hugs & kisses.

I found a large lump in his chest this week, our vet has referred us to an oncologist with OSU to get the specifics of chemo treatments for this type of Lymphoma. We are awaiting that initial appointment & have been told it may cost between $5-10,000.

I have been a social worker for almost 20 years. Working in non profits for much of my life I have struggled to save more. I currently have 5 jobs after starting my own business last year & have maxed my own Care Credit card out following several recent medical surgeries.
