About this campaign

Winter came to our family a few months after the passing of Honey, our 14 year old Labrador. She was a rescue from Mona's House in Groton who had traveled all the way to New England from North Carolina just like her momma!

Winter is a very energetic girl and loves to give the people she cares about plenty of kisses. She is very fond of cuddling and even with her size believes that she is a lap dog.

Winter is completely deaf after several ear infections during her first year of life and uses sign language and paw touches to communicate with the family and others. She likes being up high and climbing to elevated surfaces to get closer to the people that she loves. She also is very great and giving hugs.

On Christmas while out visiting, Winter decided that DCon Pro, a rat poison, would be a nice little snack. This particular poison elevates the calcium levels in the blood and can cause mineralization in the blood if not caught in time, which is irreversible. Winter was taken to Bolton Veterinary Hospital and is still receiving successful ongoing treatment from them.

We have already spent our limited savings on veterinary care, and currently Winter's dad is unemployed. Winter is a well loved member of our family and we have done everything we can at this point to help her feel better.
