Wren is an 8-year-old Maltese in Tioga, LA, who needs $1,960 for heart worm treatment & patella luxation surgeries.

I was blessed to be chosen as Wren's adoptive mom on 05/29/21, by Ninna's Road to Rescue in Louisiana. He was rescued from a backyard breeder where, sadly, he spent most of his 8 years in a small kennel. He quickly became an essential member of our family, where he's given constant loves and snuggles, and will NEVER be kenneled again. He's my heart, and I couldn't ask for a better best friend!

Wren is a real trooper, with lots of heart! He gets along well with his furbrothers (my mom's pets), as well as the humans in the family! He's treat motivated and loves Einstein and snuffle games, as well as exploring the backyard. He has limited mobility, but tries so very hard to keep up with his brothers during short walks. He's an excellent snuggle companion and will veg with me for hours!

sudden major expense is difficult as student on limited income. Surgeries & HW treatment is over $4k. I have anxiety & his calming presence is my comfort! He's my heart. Would be a blessing for him to be pain free, breathe without difficulty, so he can live a long full life!

Wren is being treated at Haas Animal Clinic, where his brothers have been 6+ years. He is heartworm positive and has patella luxation in both legs. When being xray, he turned blue, maybe heartworms making breathing difficult and he has the related cough. His kneecaps constantly pop out of joint, one vet can't pop back in. It's painful and limits his mobility. Surgery recommended for both legs.

He loves to sit in front of the long mirror & bark at the cute pup he sees there. He has an adoring way of tilting his head to look at you intently as though you're his whole world. Seeing him concentrate so hard with games is too adorable for words. He has a deep big-boy bark & often looks like he's smiling. He's extra special as my first pet that is solely mine to love & helps with my anxiety.
