About this campaign
I adopted Xena after Hurricane Irma 5 years ago. She was in a shelter and I saw her picture and fell in love. My dog Shana passed away in Hurricane Irma so I adopted Xena. Xena lives with me in my house and I also adopted another puppy named Gabrielle from the same pound to keep her company. I love them so much. They are inseparable. They are always together. Joined at the hip as they say.
Xena loves being outdoors. I have a huge fenced in back yard, and Xena and my other dog Gabrielle (names were derived from a science fiction series called Xena Princess Warrior. Gabrielle was Xena Princess Warriors sidekick). Xena and Gabrielle love playing out in the back yard and running around. My 18 year old grandson lives with me and he adores both of my dogs and spoils them.
Xena is very friendly and loves attention and being petted. She is very well behaved and if I ask her to do something or not do something, she obeys me. When strangers come to the door she wags her tail and looks to be patted. Definitely I do not think of her as a watch dog, she is too friendly and would probably just wag at an intruder and want to be patted. She is a people dog all the way.
Xena has a large bladder stone and when she urinates the stone perforates her bladder and she urinates blood. She needs surgery to remove the stone so her bladder can heal. Due to Hurricane Ian unforeseen hurricane related expenses, I do not the money to pay for her surgery now.
I am financially strapped, I live on Social Security and SSI disability which is not much money. I maxed out my credit card and savings with hurricane Ian related living expenses. The Xena started to be in pain and urinating blood, and her vet says she needs this operation
