Xiamene (Sha-meen) is a 15-year-old Bichon Frise Maltese Mix in Mesa, AZ, who needs $1,500 for Renal Support.

Xiamene's beginnings were harsh due to horrible breeders, she was being used as a bait dog. This little tiny pup of 1 pound was also physically abused with sticks. I rescued her and have been providing her with as much love as possible for 15 years now. We now have a little family with nothing but tenderness. We've been so much together, abuse, homelessness but now we have a place to call home.

Xiamene is the queen of our home. She's the smallest one and yet bosses us all. She only sleeps in the middle of the bed and cuddles as tightly as she can next to me. She insists that her chihuahua sister Sugar is always included and together they chase their cat brother Bootsy. She loves to roll in her papa's robe and will jump up to give us kisses. Her happiness is contagious. My silly girl.

Xiamane and her sister are always together. She loves to be the center of attention. When we go for walks to perks up and smiles at anyone who passes so they can talk with her give a little pat. She loves to be arounds kids and is so gentle. She is always smiling and happy with a little skip in her step. She is the first dog I've seen that prances. She only knows how to love and be affectionate.

Xiamene suffered from colitis since she was a pup. A year ago, she lost half of her weight of 7lbs and was lethargic. She was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney failure and heart murmur. She was started on medication for both however she has started to lose weight again and has a very small apatite. Our doctor has been treating her and has gained a little weight back.

My income is limited. I've used all of my savings and credit lines. Xiamene will need more blood work and possible EKG to diagnose her current health status and make any medications necessary to help keep her comfortable and hopefully with no pain. She is my heart.
