Yam is a 5 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Fairfax, VA, who needs $2,000 for Stomach Deflation, Tissue Removal, and Gastroplexy.

Yam came to us for a second chance at life only 3 weeks ago!! He was a rescue. He has been a kill shelter in another state due to his breed. He stole our hearts from the moment we met.
We are a military & Veteran family. I have severe PTSD and we adopted Yam because his demeanor was perfect for a therapy dog. He is loving, responsive to emotions and loves to snuggle and lick away my anxieties!

Yam had a severe and life threatening GDV/bloat. This is a sudden, very scary condition that is often fatal! It happens very fast and has to be treated immediately. He received emergency surgery to correct his contorted stomach.

Yam has made it through and is in recovery but is still in the hospital!

I am veteran with severe PTSD and Yam is my therapy dog. He is so sweet…. We say Yam, “the sweetest of all the potatoes”. He loves to give lots of kisses and snuggles. He's a Scorpio and enjoys long walks on the grass, sunbathing and cheese. I can’t imagine my mental health recovery without him.

We are on a fixed income due to the fact I can’t work right now because of my PTSD. The overall cost is between totaling at $10k-$13k! Everyday Yam stays in the hospital is more money. Anything helps! Please help us bring our Yam home!
