About this campaign

Zeke was abandoned in the rain, left crying in a kennel at an apartment complex with nothing but his belongings. His owners, captured on a doorbell camera, dropped him off and drove away, leaving him to suffer. He was found with a bleeding tail, likely the result of a traumatic injury—whether from self-mutilation, another animal, or worse, human abuse.

Zeke was rushed to Vergi 24/7 Animal Hospital, where the damage to his tail was so severe that it had to be amputated. Despite his painful past, Zeke is a healthy, sweet boy who still has so much love to give. Now, he’s safe, and receiving the medical care he desperately needed.

Zeke's journey is far from over, but in just a few short days of love and care, he has already made incredible strides. The pain he once endured is slowly being replaced by trust, comfort, and hope. This sweet boy is beginning an exciting new chapter in his life—one where he can finally feel safe and loved. His heart is healing, and so is his body, as he learns to trust again.

Zeke may have been let down by those who should have loved him, but with your support, we can show him the kindness, care, and compassion he deserves. Every dollar brings him one step closer to recovery and a future filled with happiness and security.

Update 2/3/25:
Zeke is hanging in there, though still facing some challenges. His tail was partially amputated, and he has been discharged into foster care for recovery. During his stay, another wound on his back was discovered, adding to the mystery of what he’s endured. He’s still in a lot of pain and has been reacting by chasing, snarling, and growling at his tail. Today, he had a visit with a new vet to start a fresh course of medication, which will hopefully help manage his pain and give him some relief. Despite everything, Zeke remains a sweet boy at heart. The current focus is on helping him manage his pain so he can rest, heal, and begin to fully recover.

Update 2/9/25:
Zeke's tail was partially amputated at the ER and the poor guy has had a rough recovery. He’s been snarling, growling, and chasing his tail. Then he sits on it which causes even more pain. It’s just been tough, but his foster mom is doing absolutely everything to make this as easy as possible for him. When he’s not distracted by his tail, he’s been totally sweet. He's making slow progress but has a long way to go until he is physically and emotionally healed.
