About this campaign
I met/rescued/adopted my pet in August of 2020 and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. His name is Zen and it is a combination of my old dog’s name (Zoe) and mine (Ben). He is a 6 year old 13 pound Yorkie with ‘special needs’.
We walk everyday either around my neighborhood or we drive to Elizabeth Park which is located in Trenton, MI. He’s extremely friendly, protective, and loving once he gets to know you. He loves to play tug of war with his toys but even more so, he loves to rip the stuffing out of ALL of them the instant he gets them.
He has a lot of quirks. He is aggressive towards most people/dogs on walks so he has a nicknames in my neighborhood (killer, Cujo). He hates phone alerts/rings and runs when he hears them so I have my phone on silent. When he first met me, he came around the corner growling and nibbled at my toes and it was love at first sight. He loves doing zoomies.
He couldn’t use his back legs starting about a week ago. Went to two vets. Long story short, he probably needs surgery which costs $10,000…ridiculous. An MRI is $4,000. Right now he is on medicine and getting crate rest. He has gone to Angel Animal Hospital in Southgate and Dogwood in Farmington.
This unexpected major expense is unaffordable in my current situation. I work as a videographer and wedding season is over. I also serve in a restaurant in Detroit. I cannot afford $10,000.
