Zeus is a 10-year-old Pug in Jefferson City, MO, who needs $2,000 for ICU - testing, procedures, treatment.

Zeus was a 3-month-old puppy mill rescue. He will be turning 11 in august. He is the baby, correction, the spoiled baby of the family. Zeus is my Emotional Support Animal. He is my companion and best friend. Currently he is in the midst of a serious medical crisis. He is in ICU and daily undergoing testing and treatment.

Zeus is always right beside me. When I am at work or away from home, I watch him via video camera and speak to him as well. He enjoys when the grandbabies come to visit. He loves the attention. Zeus is not much for going on walks, I usually end up carrying him after 5 minutes. He doesn't care for snow, doesn't like his paws to step in it, but is amazed by snowflakes landing on his face.

I work full time, with an income that pays the necessities. I had a little in savings. Since Zeus was diagnosed in February with diabetes, I have spent approx $1800 in Dr visits and insulin. I paid $1500 down to the the hospital and they anticipate my bill to reach $8000

He was diagnosed as a diabetic 2 months ago. 4 days of zero appetite, only drinking water then vomiting profusely. Dr. visit, he collapsed before entering. Sent to University Missouri Veterinary Hospital. He is in ICU undergoing testing, procedures and treatment. Labs off the chart. Pancreatitis, liver, kidney and gallbladder inflammation. Organ failure/cancer, they are still determining.

Zeus and I have our own special language. He knows when I need that special nudge. He has this special little grin especially when his lip "sticks". Zeus loves to eat what you have on your plate, he will wait until your plate is finished then will decide to eat his own food. He loves carrots, his favorite snack, he could eat a couple pounds of mini carrots in a week.
