Zeus is a 2 year old German Shepherd Dog in South West City, MO, who needs $600 for Heartworm.

I rescued this beautiful Shepard from a home that was abusive to him. He was about 2 days away from going to the shelter. He has adapted to his forever home with me pretty well. He is good with all other animals that we have socialized him with. He is not aggressive and doesn't bark at everything. He hugs everyone, working on that, I don't want him to knock someone down.

After I got him, I took him to the vet for a checkup and found that he has Heartworm. The previous owner took him to the same vet and she was told the same diagnoses. That was not disclosed when I picked him up. Otherwise he is a healthy dog.

I originally got him to be my companion and maybe a service dog, as I am disabled and am home all the time. He is a fast learner and helps me around the house. He does not leave my side he is always 12 inches from me and has become my best friend.

I am newly disabled and still fighting to get my benefits. I don't think he should suffer with heartworm because the Social Security office makes everyone wait to get paid.
