Zeus is a 1-year-old Pitbull Mix in Winder, GA, who needs $2,000 for hip replacement surgery.

My husband Tyler and I adopted our puppy Zeus and kitten CJ in October 2019. I didn’t want a dog. I grew up with cats and didn’t know what to do with a dog. We settled on a dog and a cat. My husband was in the dog room at the shelter and was about to go to the next room when Zeus pushed his bell toy up to his crate door. Tyler turned around, got him out, and we’ve all been best friends ever since.

Zeus LOVES company. He gets so excited when the doorbell rings and will sit at the top of the steps and cry until they come through the baby gate. He also gets along so well with our one year old cat. They love playing chase together. But he loves his mom and dad the most. He’s just as obsessed with them as they are with him.

My husband and I have only been married about a year and a half and have not had the time nor notice to save for something this costly. Having help with this would mean everything to us. He truly is the light of our lives.

My dog was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at Winder Animal Hospital in August of 2020. The doctor that diagnosed him is Dr. Richard Duffey. He has to have both hips replaced at UGA - Athens Vet Hospital in the near future. Zeus seems to be okay other than having minor trouble getting on the couch, but other than that everything seems to be normal.

ANY AND ALL SQUEAKY TOYS ARE HIS FAVORITE... and daddy’s least favorite. He loves any kind of treat, but especially peanut butter treats and doggy ice cream. One of the sweetest things he does is hold your hand when he sits next to you. He looks up at me like “thanks for saving me, mom. You’re the best.” Melts my heart every time.
