Ziggy is a 6-year-old Chihuahua in Franklin, IN, who needs $1,400 for Orthopedic Care.

I adopted Ziggy in 2017 after he was rescued from a hoarding situation. He and 23 of his brothers and sisters were living in a mobile home along with a total of 43 animals, neglected and fighting for scraps of food. Ziggy was born with two broken front paws and had taught himself to walk on them, and formed false joints that he uses to walk on. I’m disabled and can’t afford proper care for him.

Ziggy has the most fantastic personality and is a very social dog! He loves to go on walks and meet other animals, and he’s completely content around small children. He loves to be around large family gatherings and socialize with others! He has become the family dog and loved and adored by all! By being my companion, he has helped me more than I can ever help him and he’s my bundle of joy.

I am on disability income and cannot afford to care for him the way I would like to. He has helped me in ways that I cannot even begin to describe, getting me through the my toughest days and I want to be able to provide him the best life possible. Please help me to help him

I am trying to help Ziggy obtain ongoing orthopedic care and dental care, starting with more X-rays of his legs to find out if he will need an amputation on one of them. He would also benefit from hydrotherapy and regular orthopedic appointments. His medications cost about $100 a month and I make sure he has what he needs because he is like my child and I’ve grown to love him dearly.

When Ziggy is feeling good, he loves to play hide and seek and make you chase him until he goes and hides in his favorite “man cave” which is a spot under my bed. He loves to go on walks, loves laying in the sun and going on car rides. He has come to steal the hearts of all my family members and when I go someplace and don’t have him with me, they always ask where Ziggy is and how is he doing!
