About this campaign
Ziggy came into our life in Georgia from a rescue center. He has always been a sensitive boy, needing extra care and compassion. He's a traveller, having come from Georgia, to Arizona, to Maine, to Florida and wants nothing more than a soft blanket and a warm lap to sit in. He lives with his sister Abby and two loving parents, Aaron and Carolann in our house in Florida.
Ziggy is the sweetest boy anyone could ever ask for. He loves to snuggle in a soft blanket and a lap more than anything else in the world. We've had him for 10 years and every single one has been a blessing. He's definitely a mammas boy, though dad's lap will do in a pinch. He loves his sister very much, even if she regularly decides his food is a shareable quantity.
Ziggy has to be one of the quirkiest dogs out there. He was found in a laundromat being raised by a family of stray cats and has never really exhibited full dog tendencies since. He's always been incredibly sensitive to the point we're convinced he fully understands the english language. He's a travelling pup, having done road trips from Georgia to Arizona, to Maine, down to Florida currently.
We brought Ziggy to the Animal Medical Center Gulf Breeze on Friday, after an increase in thirst and urination where he was subsequently diagnosed with Diabetes mellitus and sent home with insulin and test materials. Over the weekend he continued to decline, after bringing him to the ER he was diagnosed with Ketoacidosis. He's been there since, and has continued to improve and stabilize.
This treatment has cost us $8,350 and we've gone incredibly in debt to save our boy. We'd do it again in a heartbeat, but just need help recovering ourselves for now. We used our wedding money we'd saved and went steeply into debt.
