Zippy Baker is a 12-year-old Shih Tzu in Manhattan, NY, who needs $2,000 for Total Ear Ablation.

After my separation from my daughter's father, and moving back from being with my family, my daughter needed a friend. So while shopping in the mall we stopped by a pet shop, and fell in love with a little white & gray energetic Shih Tzu. She ran so fast around the store, that she zipped right past several people, out the store, which is how she got her name"ZIPPY".

Zippy is part of the family fabric. She travels everywhere we go. Everyone knows her as Cousin Zippy. When we take family pictures, Zippy is included. We dress up for costume parties, and she has birthday parties with children invited, not other dogs because she's so human like. Zippy loves her teddy bears & only drinks ice cold water. She goes to bed between 9pm - 10pm every night no matter where.

Zippy is super laid back. She doesn't bark much. She loves to watch Disney or PBS cartoons in the morning. She eats with the family. Her favorite vegetables are raw carrots & broccoli. And she LOVES driving with me on my lap with her head outside the window with her sunglasses on. Super cool dog. No stress kind of dog. We absolutely love her!

She has had chronic ear infections since she was a baby. But this time it got worse when she was enjoying a day in the park and was bitten by an insect. Due to poor veterinary services, the insect bite inflamed her ear infections causing an abscess on the right side of her face. Now it appears that she needs Total Ear Ablation surgery.

During 2020 - 2021, I lost three family members- father, mother and aunt. I have a daughter in College at Hampton University in Virginia and spent hundreds of dollars with other veterinarians.
