Zivah is a two-year-old Standard Poodle in Waupun, WI, who needs $2,000 for heart surgery.

Zivah has been beating the odds, and she needs your help to stay on her winning streak!

When she was just eight weeks old, she was diagnosed with Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), a common heart defect in dogs. Zivah was with her breeder and the family who was going to take her home decided they didn't want her because she wasn't expected to live for long. When Jennifer K. heard about poor Zivah, it broke her heart.

"Since we didn't want her to live out her life in the kennel, so we asked and were granted ownership of the puppy," Jennifer tells Waggle. "The prognosis was that she would live 6-12 months if the condition were not treated. She has now lived with us for nearly two years, and she has become a very special part of our family."

Jennifer is now working with the University of Wisconsin at Madison's veterinary hospital to treat Zivah. She needs surgery to help correct the heart defect. Jennifer launched this Waggle campaign because she and her family are having difficulty paying for Zivha's procedure. "We have financial hardships due to our home, a lot of unexpected repairs," Jennifer says. "There is never enough money for the emergency fund. But to have a healthy Zivah that will help her live her full doggy life would be the world's greatest gift."

Zivah makes her family laugh every day with her antics. They would be crushed to lose this underdog they took in. "She loves to zoom and run like a rabbit. She also likes to pretend she is in the circus when she sees squirrels in the trees. She runs and hops on her hind legs along our fence line to get closer to them. When daddy comes home, she is so happy she becomes a wiggling puppy who has to go through the tunnel of his legs for a long line back scratch," Jennifer says.
