About this campaign
Have you ever had a dog you loved so much you felt like they became an extension of yourself? That's how Zoe is to Obaid K.
"Zoe came into my life in March of 2008," Obaid tells Waggle. "She was the cutest little 12-week old puppy. I remember people calling her the Charmin dog because she was so round and cute. We lived in Texas and moved around the country. This princess of mine was my co-life partner. Zoe is my first dog! I have two other dogs, but Zoe has my heart and soul. The bond I have with her honestly is indescribable. It's so strong!"
And if you ask any yellow Labrador owner, they will likely tell you the breed is spunky and full of life. That's how Zoe has been despite facing many health battles, including a recent cancer diagnosis.
"Zoe is such a fighter," Obaid says. "She has a mass in her right rib cage. Her oncologist recommended radiation therapy and, or mass removal. I don't know if I want to put Zoe through such an invasive surgery, but I'd like to do radiation at least. I'm trying to raise money for that. I don't know how much time she has left, but I want to do all I can to help Zoe."
If you give to Zoe's campaign, Obaid wants you to know that she appreciates it more than you will ever know.
"To have extra time with Zoe is priceless," Obaid says. "If I can give her a few extra months or even years, that will mean more to me than anything. She has truly taught me what true love is, patience, and, most importantly, how beautiful life is. She is the air I breathe. I know we all have to go one day. But I want to do all I can to have her stick around with me a little longer."
