Zoey Lynn Myer is a 7-year-old Labrador/Pit Mix in Tipp City, OH, who needs $2,642 for Tibial Tuberosity Advancement/Modified Maquet Procedure.

We rescued Zoey from the animal shelter in Ludington, Michigan in March 2014. She was a little over a year old and very timid. While other dogs at the shelter were barking and jumping all over their fence pens, she was sitting back and shaking in her pen. Lizzie & I fell in love with her immediately and brought her home with us. She has survived us moving 4 times from Michigan to Ohio.

Zoey is our cuddler! From when we brought her home to this day she prefers to sleep wherever mom (Megan) is. She has always been gentle with our kids; even though it was obvious she was abused, she has never been hurtful (aside from stepping on our feet often) to any of us. She is still excited to see every one of us when we come home, meeting us at the door with love and a very wiggly tail.

Megan works as a virtual administrative assistant for a luxury travel company, as a result of COVID-19, she is temporarily (6-12 months) out of work. We have no savings due to medical procedures for Megan & Angie and Megan's van is in need of $2K worth of work done.

Zoey has been limping for near a month, we hoped it was a dry paw and things would be okay. We took her to Tipp City Veterinary Hospital and after her exam and x-ray it turns out she has a left hind leg torn CCL (in humans it's the ACL) and meniscus. She must have a TTA (aka MMP) surgery to trim the meniscus and put a titanium foam wedge in her tibia to reposition her knee back to normal use.

Zoey has always been a bit wild, which makes us chuckle, groan, cry and laugh. If anyone steps within a 100 yards of our house- she knows it and we all do too. If there's a possum or cat in the yard, she'll chase them out. Our home is HER home. She would protect us with her last breath. She may lack manners with other dogs, but once she sniffs out a human, she loves them.
