Zoey is a 1-year-old Husky hound Dog in Van Alstyne who needs $2,000 for Luxating patella repair.

Zoey and her liter mate Lola were both adopted from the shelter at the same time. It was such a surprise to bring home two! We have now had the girls for a year. They have truly become such a wonderful addition to our family. I have enjoyed making a daily routine to help Zoey with still needing exercise despite her pain.

Zoey is a goofy girl. She is a snuggle bug. She is always snuggling one of my girls or her sister. We have what we call dog piles where my two kids and two dogs all make a pile of sleeping cuties. This is a daily thing. They love to read to the dogs. Cuddle the dogs while the watch tv. Zoey and Lola are very loving girls.

Zoeys favorite thing to do is sun bathe and chase bugs. It’s the sweetest thing. As for playing…she loves to play with her little people. They follow the children around and lay wherever their tiny people are. They sleep in my youngest child’s bed often as well. Both dogs have a toy basket that they love to pull toys out of. It’s been so nice that they chew on the right things.

Zoey has a grade 4 luxating patella. She has been in a lot of pain and discomfort lately. She will be in need of surgery at the Bethany pet Hospital about 5 months from April. She is having to wait till she has more mature bones. She is on a pain pill twice a day. And a sedation pill twice a day. She takes her medicine like a champ and knows it always comes with a treat after.

Sadly we have been struggling with our rent going up and the cost of gas and food. The infatuation has been enough to send us put of financial stability. It has been so hard to watch my girl hurt:( I look forward to the day when she can go on walks like a normal dog.
