About this campaign
Zues was brought home at 8 weeks old, six years ago. He was purchased from a family that I personally know. Zues is a mix between a Chihuahua and a Weenie Dog. Zues favorite thing to do is to play fetch with his favorite ball. Zues has three siblings which are all rescues ranging from ages 2 years old to 8 years old. They love playing together.
In November of 2023 Zues was given Predisone by his Vetinanrian for skin allergies and within two weeks of taking this medicine things took a turn for the worse. Zues is now diabetic and blind in both eyes. Per the Vetinanrian 1 out of 10 dogs can experience these issues when taking Predisone. I now have to highly monitor Zues and his diabetes, and he is now having complications with his pancreas.
Zues has a ball that is his favorite and he has to locate this ball before he will eat his meals. He likes the ball to set beside him while he eats. Before becoming blind, Zues would play fetch for several hours a day with his same favorite ball. Since becoming blind he can no longer play fetch, but he still loves his ball. Zues is a very sweet boy!
Zues becoming a diabetic requires a specific diet and insulin shots daily. Also, funds required for exams, blood work, glucose monitoring, etc. has placed a bit on a financial strain on my family. Zues now has pancreatitis and needs an ultrasound done soon.
