About this campaign
Zuko came to us after the death of my stepdaughter Julia in 2022. Julia had rescued him from the streets, her being an animal lover herself, while working for VIP Pets.
After Julia's death, we adopted Zuko to give him a home, like the one Julia would have wanted for him. He was traumatized at first after losing his first human in Julia, but has come to be a vital part of our family.
Zuko is one of the most beloved things we have left from Julia after her passing. He loves to rub against us to let us know he is grateful that we have taken him in, and he loves sitting in the sunlight, sleeping in the warmth.
Just a few days ago, Zuko didn't want to get up and go outside first thing in the morning, like he loved to do. He stopped eating, and we were beside our self with worry. We took him to West Park Animal Hospital, where Dr. Santiago diagnosed him with a fever. He needs to be in the hospital for a few days with IV fluids and an antibiotic, to help him get over his illness.
With no emergency fund, any help in getting Zuko the care he needs to get healthy and come back home again, we would be grateful for. He is a living link we have to our beloved Julia.
