Zuri is a 7-year-old Lab Mix in Shaker Heights, OH, who needs $500 for Heartworm Treatment.

I got Zuri back in October. I was not really looking (is anyone REALLY looking for a dog?) but saw her on Facebook and asked the owner if I could foster her to see if she was a good fit for me and the other dogs on the farm. She agreed and I picked up Zuri the following weekend. She was shy at first but warmed up to me right away and is now the light of my life.

She is very protective over her people. She knows who lives in the house and knows when everyone is home. She will do anything for the people that she loves. She gets along with other dogs as long as they do not invade her personal space! I can't blame her! She really loves her people and is selective with who she trusts.

I am in the process of moving back home due to being laid off from my job. I have been able to move some things around and budget even more so that I can pull some money together for the first treatment. It would MEAN the world to have her running aside me and my horse again

Zuri was diagnosed with Heartworm at the end of January. I have been in the process of moving back home since being laid off from my job. She was diagnosed in Florida, and will be receiving treatment up in Ohio. She will be getting her treatment at Shaker Heights Animal Hospital by Dr. Welsh. I have her appointments scheduled for April & May.

Everything she does makes my heart melt and makes me smile! She wakes me up with kisses and is just as happy to be running around the farm as she is to be on the couch watching TV with you. When you walk in the door she does her happy dance where she jumps up and down and wiggles her butt! She is ALWAYS so happy to see you and she often smiles, and her smile is contagious!
