About this campaign
Zuzu is eating and brighter after a plasma transfusion…but our sweet girl has a long way to go!
Zuzu, a 9-week-old Cockapoo is riding the awful roller coaster that is parvo. She was surrendered in critical condition and remains extremely fragile.
This deadly virus attacks the gastrointestinal tract of dogs, damaging the intestinal lining, causing blood and protein to leak, potentially leading to sepsis, anemia, infection and a severe drop in white blood cells. Parvo is as awful as it sounds. New treatment options have given dogs a fighting chance against this often fatal disease, and we are so grateful to you for allowing us to provide Zuzu with the best medical treatments.
Given Zuzu’s petite size and young age, she requires aggressive treatments and extended hospitalization. Her protein and phosphorus are dangerously low and her white blood cells are non-existent. With her first blood transfusion, she has brightened up slightly and begun to eat, but still remains quiet and lethargic. It will take time for her body to build up strength.
Please share! The goal now is to stabilize Zuzu. Please also consider a donation towards Zuzu’s hospitalization as she continues to fight, heal and start a new life! When others have failed Zuzu, you are her hope!
