About this campaign
When tiny Zuzu arrived at the Kern County Shelter in LA, she was only six weeks old—just a baby—yet already facing more challenges than most dogs ever will. Her little legs were deformed, making it hard for her to stand, let alone play the way puppies should. Because of her condition, she was heartbreakingly placed on the euthanasia list.
But Zuzu’s story didn’t end there.
Just in time, she was pulled from the shelter and brought into safety. Today, she wears casts to help realign her legs and will soon graduate to braces—but this process is long, delicate, and costly. Zuzu meets it with a wagging tail and a sweetness that lights up the room. She is incredibly social, affectionate, and full of love, but her resilience doesn’t erase how vulnerable she still is.
To keep her moving toward a healthy future, Zuzu needs ongoing veterinary care—regular checkups, x-rays, and the high-quality, high-protein food her growing body needs to get stronger. Her deformities may be part of her story, but with the right support, they don’t have to define her future.
We don’t know how Zuzu ended up in the shelter, but we do know she deserves every chance at a full, happy life. If her story touches your heart, please consider donating. Every contribution helps her take the next step—literally—toward the life she was meant to have.
