A friend of a friend had to evacuate her home during hurricane Irene and asked me to take care of Whimpee and the woman never came back to pick up her cat. Whimpee lays in bed with me and puts me to sleep. He then sleeps in the living room. He then comes back into bed with me so when I wake up I see him. Whimpee saved my life. I suffer from depression and he comforts me and gives me love. He is the only family I have. He is very special to me and he needs help. My cat Whimpee has an infection of his ear lobe which is swollen and his ear hurts very very bad. He cries in pain. He needs medical treatment desperately. I am a Senior Citizen and on a fixed income. My income goes to Rent, Electric, Medicine and Doctors. I also pay for transportation to the doctors and back home

Chaos came into oir lives at 3 months old. We rescued him (my son did, he was 17 at the time) from some bad kids who use to fight him. I knew he would never be treated right by any one else but us. He's silly and goofy and total Chaos. We have 7 cats and two other dogs. He doesn't get a long well with other dogs but he absolutely loves cats!! He sleeps in the bed with us, he's always been my child! He's good with everyone but we keep him separated from our other dogs at all times just in case a fight pursues. He doesn't have many friends unfortunately due to his demeanor but he wants friends so badly. He loves Zoomies and chasing the cats and following them onto the couch so he can sit like a big dog,lol He started off this year in April with whip worm, we've been through two vets and the second one was able to get him cured except now he's having bladder and incontinence issues, diarrhea, not holding food well, drinking lots of water excessively and has a bad tooth bothering him. I lost my job on Dec 3 and I had gotten this job three months ago to try and help my dog but i guess it was seasonal work, it would mean the absolute world to have my baby be able to have just one normal day and one nights rest. He is is so sick and has no life left in him

I was at a fall flea market six years ago and met a man that was desperate to find a home for an adorable pit bull puppy. A recent breed ban in his hometown was preventing him from keeping her or surrendering her to the local humane society. Most of his friends and family lived in the same town and couldn’t keep her. He was in a bad situation and I worried Remi might not find the best home. Remi has been my passenger seat copilot, fishing buddy and best friend ever since I brought her home from the flea market six years ago. She and I live outside of a small town in Iowa. Remi loves to swim. She gets “so excited, that she just can’t hide it” the second she sees a farm pond. She gets almost as excited about the snow. The first snow of the year gives her “puppy power” and she frolics around with puppy-like energy until I get cold and we go back inside. Remi desperately needs TPLO surgery to repair CCL damage in both of her back legs. She would have this done at Lake View Veterinary Hospital in Lake View, IA under the care of Dr. Bettin. This clinic is 4 hours from where we live so he isn’t Remi’s regular vet. Dr. Bettin does 2-3 of these surgeries a week and many patients travel to his clinic to have this done. I suffered a brain aneurysm earlier this year and have been off work with no income. I feel horrible when I see her limping around in pain and can’t afford the surgery to help her. She has contributed so much to my healing and I feel helpless watching her legs get worse.

Mischa came to us from rescue shortly after we had to unexpectedly put our first dog, Isis, down. We instantly knew there was something special about Mischa. She has been an awesome addition to our family, and she is particularly smitten with our little girls. Mischa is pretty spoiled around here. She loves to play with the girls and run in the yard with our other dog, Tucker. She gets a ton of belly rubs (it's never truly enough though if you ask her!) and is such a ball of energy. Mischa is the first of our pets that has really "clicked" with our girls. The other pets enjoy being around the girls, but Mischa seeks them out out. She follows them around and makes sure they're safe. She plays so well with them and knows not to get too carried away when it comes to the girls. Mischa hurt her leg on August 12. We have no idea how it happened, but she was limping quite a bit. Unfortunately, by Monday she was still limping and her leg was beginning to look swollen. We took her to see her regular vet and they discovered she had a spiral fracture on a good portion of her leg. Surgery was recommended. The surgeon consulted and agreed as did two other vets. 2023 has been a particularly difficult year for us. The quote for Mischa's surgery has increased due to the severity and placement of the fracture. We hesitated to create a fundraiser like this, but anything helps right now.

Zoey is a 9-year-old Pug in Mexico, MO, who needs $225 for Echocardiogram.

Zoey was surrendered to me 5 years ago by a friend's daughter. We love her so much she has so much personality. She has been diagnosed with a heart murmur that is causing fluid to build up in her lungs. She is on medication to help. They need to do a echocardiogram to stage her congestive heart failure so they know how best to keep treating her. Zoey is a character and so very laid back unless it has food involved then she acts a little crazy. She loves to eat and hang out with us she always has to have her butt touching us to make sure we don't try and do something without her like going to the bathroom alone. She loves car rides butnot a fan of rain though. When Zoey barks she sounds like an elderly person who has smoked all there like. It's really funny. She also has a special relationship with the cat. She's always trying to keep her inline. And back to her love of food this girl is on a schedule and let you know when you should be on the kitchen cooking. She will bark at you and run back and forth from living room to kitchen. She runs a tight ship Zoey need a echocardiogram to stage her congestive heart failure which is an initial cost and the her medicine runs $15 for Furosemide and $75 for Vetmedin a month. She will not be cured but vet said she believes she has 2 to 3 years depending on echo results. She is still a happy dog and loves life. I suffer from Major Depressive Disorder PTSD and generalized anxiety. He has gotten bad enough that the last 2 years I have been unable to work so Zoey and I spend our days together supporting each other.

Binx is an 8 month old Bombay cat. He was adopted from a Humane Society in Prescott about 4 to 5 months ago. Binx lives in a loving household with two kids who love him very much and an older cat named Piper who enjoys being around him, playing, grooming, and napping with him. Binx also is often around a dog, Bailee, who he gets along with. Binx is a very playful, rowdy, and affectionate kitten. He will often carry his toys around the house until he finds someone who will play with him. He is very close with Piper, the other cat in the house, and they will often play together during the day, and snuggle up with each other during bedtime. As mentioned before, Binx will let you know when he wants to play. While he is often playful and energetic, he is also quite affectionate and will sit on your lap when you are watching a movie, working on the computer, or just laying down in bed. He loves playing with the children in the house and he is just all-around an awesome cat! Binx is currently being treated at the at the animal hospital for an exploratory surgery. He consumed a foreign object, and it is not only blocking his stomach, but one of his intestines is very inflamed and full of liquid. His colon is also backed up as well which is causing plenty of discomfort. Binx's health issues were very sudden and unexpected, since the day before he was perfectly fine and healthy (or at least was acting like he was). Money is usually pretty tight and the sudden $2000 bill was very unexpected and we currently don't have the funds for it.

Princess was likely used as a breeding dog. Then the rescue discovered she had a broken shoulder and was in pain. No one knows how long she's been suffering -- but despite it all, she is still happy, wags her tail, and loves everyone. "Princess is one of those dogs that will approach and kiss you without even knowing you," Catherine says. Princess needs specialty surgery to mend her shoulder, and the rescue hopes you'll help! Her operation is on hold until the group can raise the money. Once she is fixed up and spayed, her outlook looks fantastic. Pete came into my life four years ago going on five. He was a rescue and he had been at the shelter for almost two years! He’s been with me through break ups, moving different places and has been my best friend. Though he’s not the friendliest with other dogs he loves people. He recently got a sister about 6 months ago and though he’s not sure about her, he’s very gentle with her. Pete loves to sleep in my bed with me and seems to take more of the bed then me. My girlfriend has a son and daughter and he loves them both very much. They’re young and he is very patient and loving towards them. He loves to sing at the door when we take him out, and he also loves to chase tennis balls which is funny because he misses them often Pete recently got a little sister puppy named vici. He isn’t always so sure about her but he is very gentle with her and snuggles with her sometimes when he can tolerate it. I like when he sings at the door when he goes to the bathroom. And he loves to take naps in the sun with the tv on because he likes when people are talking to him. We decided to take Pete to the veterinarian clinic here in Belton, mo because he had been sick for days and not getting better. After many tests, blood tests, heart worm tests and X-rays. We have figured out that he has some form of pneumonia and is going to need ivs antibiotics among other medicines to help him feel better and two twentyfour hour periods. I have only so much income and this was a emergency that I was not ready for or have the money for unfortunately. I’m glad he’s getting the help that he needed so that he doesn’t suffer. And hopefully he’ll feel better and come home healthy.
