I chose to have Hubble travel from a high kill shelter in TX, two years ago to come to me in Upstate NY. Best two yrs of my life. Together 24/7 (exception of appointments and groceries);exploring nature, he is my world. He is my emotional support animal, but Im really his. He can’t stand to be separated from me,even if it’s with my partner of 13 yrs. Hubble saved my life. Please help me save his. I didn’t realize Hubble was not tested for heartworms. This is my first puppy. I had an antiquated vet (since changed) who didn’t have Hubble tested at appropriate age. My new vet suspects he’s had these since adoption. The antiquated vet refused to follow American Heart Worm Society gold standard for treatment. I had to find a vet that would follow protocol to ensure best outcome. $3000 estimate. I call Hubble my Tender-Heart. He’s the sweetest dog I’ve ever met. He was so easy to train, eager to please, just bursting with joy, life and love. His favorite game was ball until he has become too tired to play as the Heartworm progresses. It’s hard to see my boy, so full of life just a few months ago, go to napping all day and clearly uncomfortable. Hubble taught me how to be a better person. I’ve been on SSI since 2021. Since adopting Hubble, I ensure he has the best possible food, play, interaction, and vet care. I did not know I was not receiving the proper tests and preventative from my prior vet. My heart is breaking. I don’t know how to live without Hubble

Help Save Fiona After Devastating Seizures

Fiona has already overcome more than any dog ever should. She was found homeless in a desolate area of St. Lucia, suffering from seizures with no access to the medical care she desperately needed. While trying to survive on the streets, children threw rocks at her, leaving a painful gash on her head. A kind woman took Fiona in to keep her safe, but during one of her seizures, the other dogs in the home attacked her. Knowing she could no longer protect Fiona, and that releasing her back onto the streets would almost certainly mean a slow, painful death, she reached out for help. That help came from The LuvPug Foundation, who gave Fiona the chance to travel to the United States for lifesaving care. Just two days after arriving, Fiona suffered devastating cluster seizures lasting more than two and a half hours. She was rushed to an emergency veterinary hospital, where she continued having seizures before being transferred to a neurologist. The swelling caused Fiona to lose her vision, but doctors are hopeful that with the right medications, her seizures can be controlled and her sight may return. Fiona has since been diagnosed with toxoplasmosis, an infection commonly contracted from raw meat or exposure to cat feces. For a puppy simply trying to survive on the streets, this diagnosis is sadly not surprising. Hungry puppies have been known to eat almost anything, even rocks, just to quiet the pain of an empty stomach. She is now receiving medication, is being closely monitored, and finally has a real chance to recover. She isn't out of the woods yet, but for the first time in her young life, Fiona has hope. Despite everything she has endured, she hasn't lost her sweet spirit. The veterinary staff caring for her have fallen in love with her, describing her as happy, affectionate, and always excited for food and treats. The emergency care, hospitalization, neurological consultations, medications, and ongoing treatment have created enormous medical bills that The LuvPug Foundation wasn't prepared for so soon after Fiona's arrival. Now they need our help. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help cover Fiona's medical care and give this brave little girl the chance to live the happy, healthy life she deserves. Last week, she had her first non-emergency vet appointment, an important milestone after everything she's been through. She also had a stretch of over 2 weeks without experiencing a seizure, which was an encouraging step forward in her recovery. During her visit, her vet discovered that she tested positive for a tick borne disease. While this is unfortunately not uncommon in rescue dogs, it's one more medical challenge that needs to be addressed. She's already being treated for toxoplasmosis, which can contribute to seizures and potentially worsen the seizure activity she already experiences. For now, her veterinary team is taking things one step at a time to make sure she receives the best possible care while carefully managing these complex medical issues. Skipper

Skipper was found dragging his back legs.

A few weeks ago, Stray Dog Support welcomed this precious little puppy named Skipper into their program after they were contacted by a lady who rescues cats in Cairo, Egypt. She had spotted Skipper dragging himself along the streets, clearly unable to use his back legs. They don’t know exactly what happened to him. Fortunately, they were able to get Skipper to safety and straight to the vet. X-rays revealed permanent damage to his spine. They’re hopeful that with physical therapy, nutritious food, supplements, and lots of love, they might see improvement. Miracles do happen, and Skipper deserves every chance. When he arrived, he was also covered in fleas and was so severely anemic that they truly believe they got to him just in time. Had he remained on the streets much longer, he may not have survived. Today, Skipper is safe in boarding care while he gains strength and begins his rehabilitation. Despite everything he’s endured, he is the sweetest, cutest little boy, and they are determined to help him thrive. As puppy season begins, Stray Dog Support is already being inundated with more and more little ones needing urgent help—and they know this is only the beginning. Recently, Beethi had his very first physical therapy session, and Stray Dog Support is hopeful it will help improve both his comfort and mobility. His treatment included extensive manual therapy to release muscle tension and improve blood flow throughout his front and back legs, helping reduce painful lactic acid buildup. He also received pulse electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy and laser therapy to promote healing and support circulation. Beethi is living with severe spinal abnormalities and significant deformities in both of his back legs. His future is uncertain, and a double hind-leg amputation is still a possibility. But before making such a life-changing decision, we're committed to exploring every option that could help him live a happier, more comfortable life. Physical therapy offers hope, but it also comes with ongoing costs. We're asking for your help to continue Beethi's treatments, specialist care, and rehabilitation. A shocking discovery revealed Rojo's pain.

A few weeks ago, during Stray Dog Support's vaccine clinic in Mexico, they met a dog they would never forget, and his name is Rojo. As he approached them they could tell something was terribly wrong. Rojo wasn’t walking normally—he was moving only on his front legs, holding both back legs in the air. It was obvious he was in severe pain. At first, they assumed he had been hit by a car. They rushed him to a veterinarian, hoping something could be done. It turns out that X-rays revealed Rojo had undergone surgery sometime in the past. Metal hardware and pins had been implanted in his back legs, but the implants had failed catastrophically, causing severe infection, deformity, and unimaginable pain. Who performed this surgery? Why was it done? Was it an attempt to help him that went terribly wrong? They may never know. What they do know is that Rojo had been surviving on the streets while carrying failed implants inside his body. After consultation with an orthopedic surgeon, the heartbreaking decision was made that one of Rojo’s legs could not be saved. And Rojo underwent amputation surgery. The surgery was successful, and he is now recovering in the hospital. In the coming weeks, he will undergo another major surgery to repair his remaining back leg. Their hope is that it can be saved and become functional again. Walking only on his front legs is not sustainable and places tremendous strain on his body. His amputation, hospitalization, medications, and upcoming orthopedic repair are expected to cost approximately $3,000 USD. Stray Dog Support is currently overwhelmed with veterinary debt, but there was no way they could leave this sweet boy to suffer on the streets. He deserved a chance. CAMO Rescue recently welcomed Jessi. She was found alone, huddled against a fence at a local school, quietly suffering and hoping someone would notice her. Thankfully, someone did. When she arrived at their veterinarian, it became clear just how much pain she had been living with. Jessi has a ruptured eye that cannot be saved and will need surgery to have it removed. She also has multiple mammary masses that will require further evaluation, and it's suspected she has significant dental disease as well. Right now, she's too uncomfortable for a full oral examination, so relieving her pain is their first priority. Despite everything she's endured, Jessi has been gentle and trusting. She deserves the chance to heal, to live without constant pain, and to finally know what it feels like to be loved. We're asking for your help to make that possible. I got Barry as a rehomed pet when he was 17 months old. He is absolutely attached to me and is my best friend. Both of us are having some health issues, so it is a bit tight to take care of his surgery needs at the moment. He has a ruptured cyst and a second unruptured cyst that need to be removed so he can be more active again. I have a quote from the same go that preformed his neuter - they are reasonable and reputable. But with all the needs for anesthesia the surgery and care will be close to $1500. Barry is such a human toddler. He requires me to sit by him as he falls asleep each night, like I’m reading him a bedtime story. I miss having him run and play outside. He used to love to go hiking. With the rising cost of life and my own medical problems, this is just something that doesn’t fit at the moment. Normally I’d be in a position to do this myself. Having a happy healthy dog is important to me and I want to make sure he is comfortable and able to be active

I bought Baxter when no one else wanted him. He was the quiet shy dog that never barked and was always the best dog. He was born the day after my daughter so he is a special part of our family. Baxter has not been eating so we tried to bring him to our vet and they said they couldn’t see him for 4 days and said since he is not eating to take him to ER. So we brought him to Animal ER of University Park. So far it has cost $2,500.00 and they found a round mass in stomach which could be chicken or foreign object. His bloodwork came back good. But if surgery is needed we used all our money. He is such an amazing boy he is quiet and loving from day one he was so comfortable where he would sleep upside down like in picture. He will paw you when he wants a pet. And he looks at you longingly with his eyes. He listens so well if I say down he does it. Since the economy has taken a hit work s hit or miss, have been out of work several weeks and have already exhausted our savings. We are using credit card to save his life but almost out of money. Please help he is a special part of our family. Thank you for the support

Lila was a rescue dog who won my heart over on day one. She had the sweetest face and disposition I’ve ever seen in a puppy. She hooked me immediately with those sweet sad eyes! I knew we’d take care of each other and we have for the past 10 years. She lives with me and I was her favorite human until my daughter was born. So Lila is technically an older sister. Lila had a mass that developed on her chest that ruptured suddenly after it ruptured we took her immediately to the emergency vet and they told us that we needed to get it removed or can potentially cause more damage and issue even worse possibly death Lila is the happiest dog I’ve ever known. She loves her human sister and every kid she meets. She’s a free spirit and loves to run in the grass all day and swim or play puddles any chance she gets. At night she’s a mushy girl and loves to snuggle with whoever’s lap is available. She’s always happy even now and still as crazy as the day I brought her home and still so curious. Lila was a healthy girl all her life until this mass grew rapidly and she got very ill quickly. The only option was immediate surgery or we’d lose her
