Tankaboo

Tankaboo is a 4 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Chattanooga, TN, who needs $2,000 for Removal of a Mast Cell Tumor.

CHATTANOOGA, TN

My 14 year old son had a therapy dog he had gotten a few years ago that was dying of an incurable cancer. In order to soften the blow he and I went to an animal shelter and found Tank. We fell in love immediately! My son and the entire family were so happy and found comfort and joy in having Tank. We can’t imagine life without him. About two weeks ago Tank was diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumor. It is a skin cancer that his breed are prone to getting. His vet, at Lookout Valley Veterinary Clinic, said that she can operate and remove the tumor. His prognosis is great if gotten to in time. However, the cost is more than I am able to pay. It is estimated to be between $1,500 to $2,200. I appreciate any help I can get to save him. Tank is like having a real life teddy bear! He is so full of love and is a gentle soul. He is very stubborn but also eager to please with his silliness and compassion. Tank has truly been there for our family during a lot of heartache experienced. I owe it to him to now be there for him. He’s never let us down and I refuse to let him down. Please, help me to keep my promise of keeping him with us. Unfortunately, I am on disability and have limited resources making this surgery very difficult to finance. I am trying to explore all revenues to make it possible. I deeply appreciate any support I can receive, and I know Tank does as well.

Finnigan

Finnigan is a 5 year old Border Collie in Conover, NC, who needs $2,400 for Lump Removal.

Conover, NC

We got Finn 5 yrs ago as a pup from a great breeder. We wanted a border collie that would swim with us, kayak with us, and hike with us, and we wanted a breed that was very smart and good with children. I am a disabled Army Veteran that had recently had a very bad injury and we wanted a companion that would help me in my recovery process. Finnigan has fulfilled every bit of that dream for us! Finn has always been very healthy until April of 2025 he came down with a throat infection that upon X-rays also revealed a lump in his lung. It cost close to 3,000$ for him to recover from the throat infection and it has not returned. It’s time to get the lump removed from his lung but my husband had lost his job and we completely depleted our savings. I’ve applied for grants but we were denied. Finn is so smart and knows the names of all his toys. His favorite toys are balls and frisbees, pretty much anything that can be thrown. He brings it back every time and would never stop playing if he could. He loves to swim and go on boat rides. He has never met an enemy - 2 legged or 4 legged. He loves watching Clifford the big red dog and I have often said he is my gentle giant and the best dog I can no longer work and live on VA disability. My husband works now but he had lost his job for 4 months and we depleted all of our savings trying to make ends meet. Finn needs to have the lump removed to have a good quality of life and a fighting chance.

Shilo

Shilo is a 11 year old American Cocker Spaniel in Westlake Village, CA, who needs $2,000 for Chronic Ear Infections and Cushing's Disease.

Westlake Village, CA

I found Shilo in a high-kill shelter in Los Angeles last year. At 10 years old, his owners abandoned him. He was in bad shape. He was half blind and mostly deaf. He had masses behind his ear and a double-ear infection. He was coughing, had arthritis, a mass on his gums, and impacted teeth. And he was confused and withdrawn. Shilo’s health issues were discovered at his first vet visit. He needed surgery to remove his masses, clean and remove teeth, castration, a deep ear cleaning under anesthesia, to be fully vaccinated, and to treat his kennel cough. Now, he is being treated for chronic ear infections, and Cushing's Disease at Slaton Animal Hospital. His ear infections were diagnosed as antibiotic-resistant. Shilo is a sweet, quiet boy who loves bread and cookies, and to be gently hugged. He is a true velcro dog who is literally under my feet at all times. He gets nervous and scurries around the house looking for me if I get out of sight. His calm nature keeps my high-energy hound grounded, and a smile on my elderly father's face. We are so lucky to have found him. I was laid off from my job more than a year ago. And over the past 10 months, I have spent more than $6,000 of my savings treating Shilo’s health issues. Shilo is in a life-or-death situation. He either gets the surgery, or he may have to be put down because of the pain.
