Help ozzy get perineal surgery — gardner, KS

gardner, KS

we rescued Ozzy when he was only 1yrs old when a neighbor moved away and left him behind, we would see him sleeping day and night outside our house because he had nowhere to go so we took him in and made him part of our family, we got all his shots done and fixed him and we de-flea him. He is very calm and extra fluffy and love to hunt Easter eggs. On August 20, he became very sick from kidney disease caused by a urinary blockage. He had a similar issue back in February, and we were able to catch it early after taking him to two different vets. This time was much worse. I was told his treatment would cost thousands of dollars (between $4,000-$5,000), and I was heartbroken because I did not know how I could afford to save him. For a moment, I even had to sign over ownership so he could get the care he needed and not suffer. My kids were devastated at the thought of losing him, and so was I. Thankfully, after seeing how much we love him and want him home, the vet gave him back to us and helped make sure he got the care he needed. He had to stay hospitalized all weekend and then have his perineal urethrostomy surgery on Monday. He now also needs a special Hill's prescription urinary care diet for the rest of his life. If you are able to donate or even share this fundraiser, it would mean so much to our family. Your support will help us cover his hospital bills, surgery, exam costs, and get started on his hills prescription diet food. Thank you for helping us keep our cat with the family that loves him. he is our daughter first pet. we took the commitment on to take him in as our family and were trying as best as we can to care for him and help him stay healthy. we are a family of 4 living off 1 pay check every 2 weeks, i'm a preschool teacher at a leathern child care center so i don't make much. we paid over 4,000 to hospitalize him and get his pu surgery done so he wont get blocked again but that's money we don't have and it'll be hard to pay it off before the interest kicks in.

Help Macie get 2 total hip replacement surgeries — Winston, OR

Winston, OR

Macie was shot in the head and left to die in a ditch. An elderly couple found her and asked if a local rescue could take her on. I saw on Facebook that a local rescue would take on this dog if someone would foster her. My husband and I said we would foster her. So we took care of her through her healing process. She has a lot of separation anxiety, so when the time came when she was totally healed, we said that we would adopt her. We didn't want her to have to adjust to another home. Plus she is a very friendly and affectionate dog. After we adopted her, she seemed to be limping. Took her to a vet who examined her. When the vet pulled in her rear leg, she cried. The vet suspected hip dysplasia. We had her hips xrayed. She does have hip dysplasia in both hips. We took her to an orthopedic specialist at a veterinary school in Oregon. The vet had to put her out as she cried so much when they examined her. She was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia in her right hip and moderate dysplasia in her left hip. The vet recommended a total hip replacement in both hips within the year. Macie loves hugs and attention anyway she can get it. We have only had her 6 months. She has bonded to us and we to her. She was a wild dog when we first got her. She is smart and has learned quickly our house rules. She is only 4 years old. We were told the cost of each hip replacement is between $9000-$11,000. This is a big stretch for us financially as my husband and I are both retired.

Help Snowball get Exam and bloodwork — Hurricane, UT

Hurricane, UT

Snowball and he sister BJ were rescued back in 2019. She has been my loyal companion ever since never once leaving my side. She has been there with me through one of the hardest times in my life and has always given the most love she can. She loves to be in charge but also loves her fur sisters and even my friends fur babies. She has allergies and usually has a runny nose and struggles with her breathing. She now has some type of either infection or trauma that has happened to her head and her forehead and eye is extremely swollen. I am trying to get her the help from the vet however because of recent financial struggles we are unable to afford the exam fee or blood work. Snowball is everyone's best friend. She is the most cuddly and friendly cat I have ever met. She loves her people and her fur friends so much. She has a sister who is her best friend and a few dogs who she has taken in like family. She has been a mom more than a couple times and she is the best caretaker to anyone who needs it. She had recently had to say goodbye to her dog sister back in February and has been very sad ever since. She has pretty severe allergies and cross eyed eyes but despite not feeling her best she pushes through and loves everyone while struggling she is the strongest kitty I have ever known. Snowball has very severe allergies and after a recent move to southern Utah her health has declined rapidly. Currently she is struggling with discharge from her nose and eyes and her forehead is also now starting to swell. she needs immediate help to get a diagnosis and figure out medications or surgery to help her. We have been struggling to find reliable income after we were kicked out of our home and forced to move to a new place with help from my mother and step father however because the employer we found here has without months of our pay we are unable to afford the vet costs to get her the diagnosis and medication that she desperately needs.

Help Sinto Learn to Trust and Heal

Sri Lanka • Baw Baw Animal Welfare

Sinto should never have had to experience this. He was brought to Baw Baw Animal Welfare after an incredibly upsetting incident in which he was intentionally struck by a neighbor—an act that was reportedly captured on CCTV footage. After something so frightening, the team’s first priority was making sure Sinto was safe and understanding the full extent of his injuries. At first glance, he appeared to be doing relatively well. A few wounds were visible on the outside of his body, but with trauma like this, not every injury can be seen right away. His veterinary team quickly began a more thorough evaluation, including blood work, a distemper check, and an abdominal scan to look for any concerns that might be hiding beneath the surface. For now, Sinto’s journey is a waiting game. His veterinary surgeon has recommended that he remain under close observation for five days so the team can monitor his condition and respond quickly if any complications arise. After everything Sinto has been through, Baw Baw Animal Welfare is determined to give him the care, safety, and compassion he deserves. But emergency examinations, testing, monitoring, and continued veterinary care come at a cost. Please consider donating toward Sinto’s care. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps Baw Baw Animal Welfare continue showing up for animals like Sinto when they need someone in their corner most.
