We got our sweet girl when I was a senior in highschool and now I’m about to graduate college. Oakley has been with me through all of the biggest life changes. She is my world and I love her more than anything. She is the most loyal, loving and kind dog. She is truly a blessing to us. Three years ago Oakley went swimming in the lake with a small cut we were not aware of. A few weeks later we noticed a small bump on her arm. After years of vet visits, we found out she has Pythiosis (swamp cancer). It is insanely rare and there is no cure. After many medications and trials, the only option we have left is to amputate Oakleys arm. Oakley has been by my side through so many major life events. She brings everyone so much joy. She loves so big and would never pass up the opportunity to snuggle. She is so gentle and kind. She is truly such a big part of our family. I am a full time student and my fiance is in the fire department. Our vet does not offer any sort of payment plan for Oakleys surgery. Postponement of the surgery is not an option as the infection can spread higher in her shoulder and no longer allow for amputation.

Oscar Meyer was born July 4th 2018 and he came home with me September 8th 2018. He was been the sweetest and most loving Dachshund I’ve ever come in contact with. Oscar loves to snuggle and play with his stuffed version of himself (toy wiener dog).. he enjoys going on walks outside, marking his territory every few steps and of course licking his dads face off after being at work all day. ❤️❤️ Oscar Meyer has been dealing with IVDD symptoms now for two years. He struggles with pain management and as of a few days ago (03/01/2024) is now in stage 4/5 of IVDD where his back legs are pretty much useless now, he can walk some but it’s sporadic at best. He still has pain and we are managing that through Furdunkin (vet clinic Lancaster Pa) as well as Willow Run Vet Clinic (Lancaster Pa) Oscar is a friend and companion to everyone. All of my friends and family have commented how just downright sweet he is. He is so protective of me and if I walk out of a room people always say he just cries for me to come back. 🥺 Oscar has brought so much joy to my life as the past 6 years have been pretty tough emotionally (failed relationships, loss of a parent, financially struggling). I only make about 57,000 a year, and with being on my own and no other income coming in, just keeping things going and being able to save is a stretch right now. I own a very used car which needs repairs, on top of which bankruptcy two years ago.. it’s been tough.

Chunk

Chunk is a 6 year old English Mastiff in Grove City, , who needs $2,000 for Surgical Removal of Mass and After Care.

Chunk is our sweet, silly, loving 6 year-old English Mastiff who is the epitome of a gentle giant. I use him as a therapy dog with the special needs kids that I work with. Chunk doesn’t know a stranger ( human or animal) and he can win over even those most fearful of dogs with his gentle, loving presence. He has given so much to our family and the children at my school and now he needs help. Chunk was diagnosed with a Squamous Cell tumor which grew very quickly. It started with a small mass on his right elbow, which grew very fast into a large tumor. We took him to our local vet for biopsy, but due to his size at (187 pounds), we had to seek specialist care in Pittsburgh (Medvet) at an hour and a half away. There they did an additional X-ray of his lungs and abdominal ultrasound. Chunk is still full of life, love, & energy—he deserves a chance to keep fighting & enjoying life after how much joy he has brought to others. We can’t imagine losing him at only 6 yrs old when he still has so much life left to live. Chunk means the world to our family, our other pets, and also the children that I work with. His kind, silly spirit has enchanted the hearts of all he has encountered The medical care and surgery he needed cost $8,000 and now we are looking at post medical care with more medicine, follow up care, and possibly oncology visits. Unfortunately we live in a rural area where the veterinarians do not take pet insurance, so we never purchased it.

Jackson

Jackson is a 10 year old Beagle in Abingdon, MD, who needs $2,000 for Chemotherapy.

Jackson came to us as an owner surrender when he was a year old. He had been living in an apartment and needed not just more space, but space where he could sniff, howl, and bark like a hound should. We welcomed his sweet disposition, soulful eyes, and emotional empathy with open arms. He quickly settled in to our pack and his other hound siblings and him we're inseparable. 2 years ago his protein levels were high. We started doing all the tests to figure out why. Nothing was showing up. We started medication to try and protect his organs and continued to monitor his levels with recurring lab work. In Oct 2024 we noticed blood in his urine. During treatment for this a regular exam showed an enlarged prostate. 2 months later we received the offical diagnosis. Cancer. He is an emotional support for our entire family. Our sons, our other dogs, and us. He is so attentive and instinctively knows when you just need him to lay with you, to kiss you, or to try cheering you up by offering his favorite toy. He's most in his element when we're camping. He greets other campers, relaxes by the fire, or possibly stealing the hotdogs the neighbors kids are using for bait. The end of 2024 hit hard with unexpected expenses; new roof, 2 new appliances, and the cost of a Pet ER visit and the diagnostic process. Our savings was depleted. We know this isn't curable but we'd like him to be with us as long as he can do so comfortably.

We got our boy in early November of 2023. He owed on my husband on the 5 minute drive home and we decided to call him Hershey. He had the cutest little belly and was sleeping in the grass with his sister. We went through the cute phase, the piranha dog phase and the good boy phase. He is just the sweetest boy and had so much life. We have 2 other dogs and they are literally my kids and our family Around 7 months old I noticed he was still bunny hoping up the stairs and had a hard time getting up. I have watched him become less active over time. I took him to the family vet where he was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia and needs full hip replacements. Granite Veterinary Specialist in Cottonwood UT will be doing his surgeries as soon as I can raise the funds. He does have an account there He is just one of those dogs that gives so much love to everyone. He’s like the glue. He’s not any one persons dog and has such a gentle soul. He LOVES playing with the ball but over the last few weeks he doesn’t even do that. I am currently the only one working with a family of 3 and 3 dogs. I keep them licensed and up to date on all their vaccines. To have him healthy again would make such a difference. I want my spunky boy back and this is the only possible way.

Leia came into our life as a puppy when she was about 4 mo old. We drove to Ohio to get her from a working farm where her parents lived. We live on a hobby farm, but now she only has 1 sheep to ‘guard’ besides our family, incl. grandkids and her four legged siblings. She loves to spend her days outside, laying in the porch and making sure we are all safe. She barks a lot, even at falling leaves This Saturday Leia developed swollen hind legs and diarrhea with vomiting, so we took her to our regular vet (Douglassville Vet, PA). After many tests they sent us to Metropolitan Emergency in Norristown, PA for supportive care, where she is spending the weekend. She is loosing protein hence the edema - something is going on n her Gi track, but needs more tests done while she is there on Monday. Her favorite friend is Marton, the golden. They hang out all day and sleep together as well. She does love digging holes and laying in them, she loves long walks and wading in creeks. She follows the grandkids all over the yard, watches them play in the pool, and makes sure they are all safe. At night she patrols the perimeter of our yard before coming inside to sleep… she is the best. Our regular vet was $1270, and so far we paid $4k for her stay. She will need another ultrasound and endoscopy on Monday and possible more hospitalization. we aren’t sure where to get the rest of the money. She is the most loyal companion and means the world to all of us.

Birdie Mae was born December 14, 2024. She was brought to us by a neighbor that couldn’t care for her we gave the family some money to take her. We fell in love with her the moment we met her. She has 4 human siblings that love her. She has 2 big brothers that love her and can’t wait for her to get big and be able to play. She is so sweet and has an amazing personality. She’s super sassy. On March 1, 2025 one of her human brothers were holding her and loving on her. Her 2 big dog brothers were ruff housing as they do unfortunately the human brother lost handle on miss birdie and she got on the floor well our clumsy boxer fell on her front leg and fractured her leg at the humerus bone. We’re devastated she will need surgery She loves to run, jump, play chase you back and forth. Demands attention and it’s so easily given. Even though we haven’t had her long we love her so very much. She’s going to be the sassy lady of our house and are so happy with that. We want her to be able to play with her big dog brothers the way it was meant to be. We are a hard working family and save when we can fortunately we had enough for meds and X-rays and emergency care. Unfortunately we were not expecting for our sweet girl to need surgery we can’t afford it but it needs to be done because of the location.

No one wanted Milo who I got free from a breeder, who I worked with because of his cherry eye, so we took him and had it operated on, but the cherry eye came back. We love him anyway and it never mattered to us! We have never regretted it. My best friend Milo, after supporting me all his life and being by my side, has become sick with a bad heart. This requires him to take expensive medicine twice a day. This is a guy who gets up, even when he isn't feeling good, because he's such a gentleman, he thinks he needs to accompany me wherever I go. I try to tell him it's ok sweetie, please don't get up, I will be right back, he's constant Milo loves his boy Isaac who was 10 when we got him. He loves the spider game and snuggling with his mom. Most of all, Milo loves to eat soft dog food and snacks. I lost one of my two jobs right after Christmas. My husband is disabled and receiving treatment off and on the Mayo Clinic which is very expensive for gas, food, and lodging. I've found myself at the bottom with a lot of debt!

Mögi is a 6 month old MalamutexGSD I adopted 3 months ago, who also happens to be a special needs dog. He was born with a congenital defect that has left his front right leg greatly deformed. When asked, I was told by the local HS that Mögi would likely be better off without amputation so long as his deformity didn't hinder his ability to enjoy life. Unfortunately the situation has changed. Despite his congenital defect, Mögi is in perfect health. The other day while I was making dinner I heard Mögi scream in agony. I ran to him and immediately examined him for injuries and found he was sensitive with his deformed leg. It appears he injured himself while chasing a tennis ball. The next morning we went to the vet for X-rays and that's when it was discovered he had broken his leg. Mögi is a blessing and such a light in the lives of my family. I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis as well as a congenital abnormality known as Ehlers Danlos, so when I saw him at the H Society I was immediately drawn to him. Ultimately, it was my 8yo daughter who chose him and it's been clear ever since that he was meant to be a special part of our lives. He's a puppy but is also such a gentleman. I am a single mother of 2 struggling financially due to my own medical expenses. This winter has been particularly rough and my savings are depleted. Mögi needs an amputation to save his life. With that would come many years of joyous adventures and memories for our family
