Gunner

Gunner is a 11 year old Australian Shepherd in Live oak, CA, who needs $2,000 for Hip Dysplasia and Aural Hematoma.

Live oak, CA

Twelve years ago, I rescued Gunner from a backyard litter of four puppies. An elderly couple couldn’t care for them, so I helped rehome the others—but Gunner stayed. He’s been by my side ever since, through every high and low life has thrown our way. Gunner isn’t just a pet—he’s family. His loyalty, love, and gentle spirit have carried me through some incredibly tough times. Recently, we’ve faced Current Conditions: Hip Dysplasia: Gunner has developed significant joint deterioration in his hips, causing pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. He struggles with walking and standing for long periods, and his quality of life depends on pain management and supportive therapies. Aural Hematoma: He recently developed a hematoma in one of his ears, likely caused by excessive scratching or shaking Gunner isn’t just my dog—he’s my guardian angel. Twelve years ago, I rescued him from a backyard litter that an elderly couple couldn’t care for. I rehomed the others, but Gunner stayed. Since then, he’s been my constant companion, my comfort through hardship, and—once—he even saved my life. One night, a large pit bull forced its way through Gunner’s doggy door and headed straight for my bedroom. We are an agricultural working family living paycheck to paycheck, doing our best to stay afloat. Recently, we became victims of utility theft by our landlord, who rerouted power usage to our meter. Despite clear evidence, PG&E continues to charge us, and we’re still fighting.

Marshall Meowthers

Marshall Meowthers is a 36 month old Russian Blue in Tampa, FL, who needs $350 for Xrays, Blood Work, Treatment.

Tampa, FL

i brought Marshall home when he was hardly 3 lbs and 8 weeks. His third birthday is in April and for the first time ever he decided to sneak out. A true scaredy cat. He loves watching the outside world but never had a desire to get out. Until recently a stray kitten had been coming to the glass doors and apparently he had a mission and snuck out. Unknowing to him, it was a huge mistake. I took him to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. For a reduced price they looked at him and said he had a bite. He got an antibiotic, pain medicine (100mg gabapentin and Onsior), an appetite stimulate and probiotic. They told me he needs Xrays and blood work. Which I couldn't afford at that time. I thought he was getting better but now he hasn't pooped since before the flight. I fear he is declining Seeing him in pain is breaking my heart. I feel so terrible for not being able to take care of him. I've had 2 other cars (given to me as a child) that lived outside and they loved that life. Marshall is such a sweet boy I feel like he just wanted to play with whatever he could find outside and ran across the wrong animal. He loves to snuggle and reach every new high spots he finds. A few months ago my mom broke her tibia and fibula. She had an almost 6 hour surgery to repair. She's still healing. 3 weeks ago I was rear ended and have been suffering physically. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't in pain. I would find a way to get him help.

Willow

Willow is a 10 year old Mix-Breed in Panorama City, CA, who needs $1,000 for Comprehensive Dental Exam/Extraction.

Panorama City, CA

Ten years ago, in the middle of a quiet parking lot, I found a tiny, trembling kitten. I scooped her up and named her Willow, after Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s best friend—loyal, smart, and quietly powerful. It felt fitting. She grew from a fragile rescue into a confident, quirky cat, still with feral tendencies, and a love for sunbeams and laser lights. She’s not just a pet; she’s family. Today, Willow needs urgent dental care. She’s showing signs of pain and discomfort, and I suspect she may need a tooth extraction. Unfortunately, Willow’s feral instincts make vet visits extremely challenging—she’s fearful of carriers and unfamiliar environments, which means sedation may be necessary just to complete the exam safely. Willow may be tough, but she deserves to live without pain. Living alone, Willow has become more than just a pet—she’s my daily companion, my comfort, and my quiet joy. One of her favorite pastimes is watching the hummingbirds that visit the feeder I keep just outside the window for her. She’ll perch there for hours, tail flicking gently, eyes wide with wonder, as the tiny birds dart and dance in the sunlight. Willow has made my life feel less empty. Living solely on a disability income means every dollar is carefully accounted for. I do everything I can to provide Willow with a safe, loving home, but her current dental issues require professional care that’s simply beyond my financial reach.
